Kuehne & Nagel, a global logistics provider, has invested in another logistics centre in Hamburg that is scheduled for completion in spring 2004.
This shows not only the company's successful expansion and strong market position in contract logistics but also the significance of Hamburg at a global level, the company said.
The facility will be located in the Altenwerder section of Hamburg where the company said it plans to operate a modern logistics centre with 31,000 square metres of warehouse space on a total area covering 60,000 square metres.
Ewald Kaiser, managing director - Germany, said: "We are convinced that our terminal in Altenwerder will offer customers efficient, cost optimised and environmentally friendly logistics.
"In particular, the import logistics activities can now be organised more efficiently, because container movement can be reduced to a minimum," Mr Kaiser continued.
