Europe's largest credit card issuer, Barclaycard has revealed that it is looking for a variety of deals with football teams in the United Kingdom.
The group signed a deal with Manchester United this week to promote club-branded credit cards around the world.
Barclaycard is hoping to attract Manchester United's global fan base and is believed to have paid the club less than £5m for the agreement.
Gary Hoffman, chief executive of Barclaycard, said the deal was an important step towards the aim of building Barclaycard as a global business.
"It signals our willingness to do deals and also shows that we have international aspirations. We would look at others." he told the Financial Times
