Postwatch was delighted to be invited to help judge the nation’s Best Post Officeawards. Post Office Minister, Stephen Timms, announced the results for the seven different categories on 14 October.
Ian Fisher, Postwatch’s Senior Director and one of the judges, commenting on the awards said, “The Post Office network is a national treasure and should be celebrated. Every post office is special to its customers and in the current difficult trading conditions all of them deserve recognition. Those that were nominated and those that won awards do, however, show what can be done and set shining examples for others to follow. I know that customers appreciate the efforts of those subpostmasters and subpostmistresses that go the extra mile.
“All the finalists in all the categories were excellent post offices. Choosing between the eight regional winners to find the national winners was very challenging. Too often post offices are talked down. It was great to be given the chance to praise them.”
