Thales e-Security today announced that it has joined the RSA Secured® Partner Program to help provide a trusted identity and access management solution between the WebSentry™ family of hardware security modules and RSA Keon® digital certificate software. This certification is designed to ensure that the companies’ joint customers achieve the highest levels of security and unprecedented value for money when deploying digital certificate solutions.
As the business world evolves, an effective e-business strategy is essential to the growth and success of an organisation. Companies must feel confident that vital information and applications remain secure, both inside and outside their operations. The new strategic partnership between Thales e-Security and RSA Security helps end-users efficiently and cost-effectively manage the digital identities of diverse user bases – including employees, partners and customers.
As part of the RSA Secured Partner Program, WebSentry has been awarded ”RSA Secured RSA Keon Ready” signalling its interoperability with RSA Security’s authentication technology and digital certificate software. The RSA Secured certification lets organisations know that a powerful partnership has been created that leverages market-leading security products and technologies in order to meet the needs of an effective e-business strategy.
The joint solution between Thales e-Security and RSA Security helps ensure that the RSA Keon CA cryptographic keys that sign and certify end users’ identities can be protected by the highest levels of security. This is provided by WebSentry, which stores and protects the cryptographic keys within its high security, FIPS 140 level 4 certified tamper-resistant hardware envelope. This high level of protection makes the cryptographic keys extremely secure. For RSA Keon CA, WebSentry provides not only the high-assurance platform required for key protection but also the necessary security environment for offering maximum protection of cryptographic resources: key management, key backup and restore, access control to the resources and split control over master keys.
Paul Meadowcroft, Head of Transaction Security of Thales e-Security, said: “PKI systems rely on a system of trust. This strategic partnership between RSA Security and Thales e-Security helps ensure that RSA Keon CA customers will have a highly secure hardware platform for CA key protection that they can trust.”
“We are pleased to welcome Thales e-Security to the RSA Secured Partner Program,” said Stuart Cohen, director of partner development at RSA Security. “Our relationship with Thales e-Security allows our joint customers to achieve faster time to deployment with the security they require to meet the demanding needs of e-business.”
