The DMA announces new online learning initiative to promote industry best practice and raise awareness of the ever-changing legislative landscape. The first in a series of e-learning programmes will focus on the new Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003, governing email and SMS marketing. This masterclass has been developed in conjunction with e-learning specialists Knowledge=Power and is an interactive distance learning course designed to ensure that people understand the principles surrounding the new guidelines and stay within the law. At the end of the course users can print off a certificate to demonstrate that they have passed the training programme.

About the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003
The final version of the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 (the Regulations) came into force on 11 December 2003. The Regulations implement the Privacy and Electronic Communications Directive, which was adopted by the European Union in July 2002.
