The House Government Reform Committee’s Special Panel on Postal Reform & Oversight held numerous hearings with key stakeholders in the mailing industry over the past year to develop comprehensive postal reform legislation.
“This legislation is an important step toward long-term, comprehensive postal reform,” stated UPS chairman & CEO Mike Eskew. “The Postal Service plays a vital and critical role in facilitating commerce in our nation. This legislation will provide the Postal Service with flexibility as well as necessary oversight to effectively compete in the mailing industry.”
Eskew added that, after months of hearings and meetings with stakeholders from diverse perspectives in the mailing community, the House Government Reform Committee has created effective and comprehensive legislation that is critical to the nation’s economy
