Orbiscom, has announced today a new security solution to support Secure Payment Application (SPA), MasterCard International’s initiative for online cardholder authentication.
SPA is an issuer-based security scheme that takes advantage of MasterCard’s Universal Cardholder Authentication Field (UCAF™) infrastructure. SPA addresses the protection of all parties involved in online transactions – the cardholder, the merchant, the card issuer and the merchant acquirer.
Designed around a core set of services (enrolment, authentication, customer service and reporting), the Orbiscom solution accommodates multiple payment initiatives, including MasterCard SPA and virtual card numbers. It offers customers a unified and consistent payment experience and further security methods can be easily added to manage future issuer requirements.
“There is a growing demand from our clients for SPA,” said Olivier Stoica, Director Sales & Marketing, Orbiscom Europe, “and we’re delighted to have worked closely with MasterCard to provide a SPA solution that meets both issuer and consumer needs. By unifying existing Orbiscom convenience features with SPA’s strong cardholder authentication, we are creating compelling user experiences while providing explicit evidence that the cardholder originated the transaction.”
