Trade and Industry Secretary Patricia Hewitt today announced the
appointment of Allan Leighton as the new chairman of Consignia
Holdings plc.
Mr Leighton has been acting as interim chair of the company since
January.
Ms Hewitt said:
"I am delighted that Allan has agreed to become the new chairman of
Consignia.
"As a successful businessman and interim chairman of Consignia, he
has shown the determination and energy needed to address the
challenges facing a large, global business in an increasingly
competitive market.
"His appointment is a central part of our drive to bring in new
management to the company so that it can have a more secure future."
