Fintur Holdings has acquired virtually full ownership of Moldcell by purchasing the 23% of shares owned by Accent Electronic in mid-April 2003. Fintur now has a direct 89% stake in the GSM-900 operator while its 99%-owned subsidiary Molfintur holds the remaining 11%. Accent, which was established in 1991, distributes the products of IBM, Hewlett Packard and Compaq in Moldova. The company commented that it was selling its stake in Moldcell because it wished to focus on business interests in which it could have a say in the decision making process. Fintur Holdings, which is 58.55% owned by TeliaSonera and 41.45% by Turkcell, also has mobile stakes in Azercell (Azerbaijan), Geocell (Georgia) and KCell (Kazakhstan)
