At the CeBIT 2004 trade show, Nokia unveiled integrated RFID for a GSM phone. The Nokia Mobile RFID Kit, combined with the Nokia 5140 phone, creates a GSM phone with RFID reading capability.
The Nokia Mobile RFID Kit is targeted at field service and other mobile enterprise applications. By touching a "smart" object's RFID tag, the user can initiate tasks in their Nokia phone - call and send text messages, or access databases and record new data entries.
Nokia also introduced the Nokia 7610 smartphone, Nokia's first mega-pixel imaging device. It offers image capture, printing, storing and sending. Nokia also introduced a number of complementary imaging enhancements like the Nokia Image Album and Nokia Image Viewer, and a new advanced car kit.
The Nokia 7610 smart phone is a 1152 X 864 imaging device featuring a 4x digital zoom and a self-timer. It also offers multimedia messaging, e-mail an Internet browser, 72MB of expandable memory, USB, Bluetooth connectivity and support for Java technology.
