Bayan Telecommunications, Inc. (BayanTel), has signed a frame agreement with Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERICY) for the provision of Ericsson's EDA solution to support high broadband subscriber growth in the Philippines.
The contract is part of an ongoing deployment of Ericsson's EDA solution for BayanTel's nationwide DSL rollout. Under the agreement, Ericsson will continuously provide a comprehensive portfolio of services to BayanTel, including supply, delivery, installation, integration, staff training, testing and commissioning of Ericsson's IP-DSLAM Ethernet DSL Access solution, within the agreed time frame.
Covering BayanTel's service areas in Metro Manila, the Bicol region, the Visayas and Mindanao regions, the deployment of Ericsson's EDA solution will enable Bayantel to continue to provide an enhanced platform of broadband services and reliable, high-speed connections to more customers nationwide. The implementation of the new frame agreement will commence in June 2006.
