Vodafone Group Plc today announces the appointment of Steve Pusey as Chief Technology Officer with effect from 1 September 2006.
Steve Pusey will be responsible for all aspects of Vodafone's networks,IT capability and supply chain management. He will report to the Chief Executive of Europe and will join the Group's Executive Committee.
Mr Pusey, 45, is one of the most senior executives at Nortel and is currently Executive Vice President, and President, Nortel EMEA. He has been with Nortel since 1982 and during the past twenty years, he has gained a wealth of international experience across both the wireline and wireless industries and in enterprise applications and solutions. During his time as President of Europe from 2001 to 2005, he managed far-reaching change programmes that led the region back to significant growth.
He will succeed Tim Miles who will be returning to New Zealand with his family. Tim Miles said "It is with great sadness that I will be leaving Vodafone in a few months time, but I am confident that in Steve we have found an excellent successor who will be a great leader of the Group Technology team and will successfully develop this function to support the execution of our strategy."
