US engine major Cummins has announced the launch of its web & smart-card enabled commercial fleet and service solution in India.
The newly launched service by wholly-owned subsidiary Cummins Auto Services Ltd (CASL) will provide maintenance and service solutions for on-road commercial vehicles, and customers will pay for the service on their smart card.
It will open four Tier-I service centres along the Delhi-Mumbai national highway this month, according to CASL chairman Jim Rugg.
"Starting with the Delhi-Mumbai corridor of National Highway 8, we aim to cover as much as 12,000 km of highway as part of our national rollout," he added.
The fleet management solution has been branded "Suraksha". It will be completely web and smart card –enabled to allow customers to make cashless transactions.
