Profile
BemroseBooth Mass Transit has managed to achieve significant growth
since being awarded the UK's first single-source rail ticketing contract
in 1996. The renewal of this contract in 2001, against global competition,
involved the development of new products and services meeting the
changing needs of the rail industry in the long term.
Increasingly, the division is widening its customer base beyond the
UK Train Operating
Companies (TOCs) to supplying products on the global stage to mass
transit authorities,
along with bus, ferry and airline operators.
Recent demand has seen the division developing its scope beyond that
of a specialist ticket supplier towards offering a "one-stop
shop" service, which includes a full range of tickets, coupled
with associated forms and stationery items. This initiative has been
underpinned with investments into new management information systems
and extended secure warehouse facilities.
Many BemroseBooth products incorporate technologies such as magnetic
stripes, bar codes and holograms. There are clear indications, however,
that the future demands of the travel market will include low-cost
smart solutions. The aim will be to allow integrated tickets to be
developed, which will not only enhance revenue protection, but will
also help in improving boarding times, as well as increased data capture.
BemroseBooth is committed to the research, development and investment
required to meet this future need and to position itself to take advantage
of the new opportunities that this emerging technology will create.
