Data Specification
The preferred formats for data supplied to
Secure Mail are outlined in this document. We can receive and process
data in other formats if required specifications cannot be met.
Please contact one of our account managers if you require any further
information.

Formats
ASCII or EBCDIC files - Fixed length records preferred
Tab delimited records preferred for delimited files
Fields within records to be fixed size
For delimited files please advise type of delimiter used
General
A full specification and record layout should be supplied with
each media format.
Single file reels are preferred. If multi-file reels are used,
please indicate clearly.
A default salutation should be supplied for all mailing activities.
For files supplied pre-Mailsorted, the postcode (and ideally the
post town and county) should be supplied in a fixed position within
each logical record. The Mailsort parameters for the mailing should
be supplied (i.e. item weight, bag & bundle sizes, Mailsort
service) and a file containing bag & label data.
