7799 has been established as a standard for an Information Security
Management System that helps identify, manage and minimize the range
of threats on information.
The purpose of Information Security management is to ensure business
continuity and reduce business damage by preventing and minimising
the impact of security incidents. An Information Security Management
System (ISMS) enables information to be shared, whilst ensuring
the protection of information and computing assets.
BemroseBooth has gained certification for BS 7799 from BSI Management
Systems, an independent certification body. BSI audited BemroseBooth
to ensure that the proper policies, procedures and controls were
in place under BS 7799 guidelines.
Specific areas of review and management included:
- security policies
- organisation of assets and resources
- asset control, personnel security
- physical and environmental security
- communications and operations management
- access controls
- systems development and maintenance
- business continuity management
- compliance.
BSI will audit these areas within BemroseBooth every six months.
